Who
We Are
Polished
Prose really is a "we," not just a solo act, but we'll get to
that in just a minute. Polished Prose is owned by Judith Broadhurst,
an award-winning writer
and editor with 20 years of experience. You'll find her bio
here, and she'll be glad to send you a full résumé
on request. Tucked
behind this screen, there's a synopsis
of her career with several mostly relevant details that aren't in her
bio or résumé, just for the insatiably curious.
Judith has
worked on staff and as a consultant or freelancer in health care
and health education, medical research, journalism, and Internet technology,
as well as Web and newsletter publishing. She now combines all of that
experience, plus her BA and graduate work in psychology, in writing,
editing and related services for clients in fields related
to health and psychology.
She's the
embodiment of "lifelong learner" in both her personal
and professional lives. She
has completed programs through Stanford and Harvard medical schools
and is enrolled in the multidisciplinary certification curriculum of the
American Medical Writers Association, among other continuing
education credits. For info about
some of those courses and her specialties, see Areas
of Expertise.
You'll find
descriptions of services that Polished Prose offers in Ways
We Help You and representative examples of Judith's work in
Portfolio Samples,
Recent Articles and the Newsletter
Archive.
Our
Associates
When you
hire Judith, you get her extensive skills and experience, not
some subcontractor. But because she's an editorial content expert
with a journalistic mindset, not a true techie nor a marketing maven,
she collaborates with top-notch graphic artists, Web designers and
developers, marcom writers, marketing strategists and writers, medical
and tech illustrators and other specialists to deliver comprehensive
services to her clients for Web sites and any projects that require those
skills.
She manages
all projects for her own clients, so you get the convenience and accountability
of one person and the comfort of an established relationship, yet the
talent that only a full team can give you. Judith also practices what
she preaches. So just as she advises everyone to always use
professional proofreaders or copy editors for all published or important
internal projects, she hires them for her own work and all client
projects, too.
